AONTAS Festival - Celebrating Lifelong Learning in University College Cork (UCC)
30.01.2008

UCC and the Centre for Adult Continuing Education at UCC are proud to host a series of events to mark the AONTAS lifelong learning national festival which runs in Ireland from February 4th-8th 2008.

AONTAS is the Irish National Association of Adult Education, a voluntary membership organisation, which promotes the importance of adult and community education as a key part of lifelong learning.  Dr Tom Mullins, Acting Director, Centre for Adult Contining Education (CACE) says of the Centre’s involvement  in the festival: “The CACE is delighted to be involved with the Aontas Festival again this year. The mission of CACE is to foster life-long  learning and to facilitate access for all adults, irrespective of previous  educational qualifications, to some aspect of the university experience.  Working with Aontas in this way is an exemplar of the kind of broad and  inclusive approach that CACE has established and intends to develop in the  immediate future to integrate the university more fully in the general  community.”
