Student's Final Year Project Reaps Rewards

Brian McCarthy, winner of the IBM Open Source Software Competition Award received a Samsung Galaxy Tab award from Martin Hickey, IBM. The presentation took place at the IBM Cork Software Laboratory on 6th December 2018.

The award is given to the student who demonstrates the best use of Open Source Technologies in their final year project.

Brian’s project title: Multi-Cloud Management: Software for deploying, monitoring and migrating diverse cloud services

Project Supervisor: Dr. Aisling O’ Driscoll

Brian gave an oral presentation of his project and results to the IBM hybrid cloud team as well as a number of IBM software engineers. Brian is currently undertaking a PhD funded through the SFI Centre for Future Networks & Communications under the supervision of Dr. O’ Driscoll.
