The 11th Atlantic Corridor Medical Student Research Conference brought together undergraduate medical researchers from across the Atlantic Corridor medical schools for a vibrant showcase of clinical and translational science.

Held at the Clinical Science Institute at University of Galway on November 07th 2025 , the event offered emerging clinician-scientists the chance to present cutting-edge work spanning areas such as infectious diseases, novel therapeutics, medical education and health systems research. Each presentation was supported by faculty mentors and peer colleagues, promoting both excellence in science and networking across institutions. A highlight was the plenary lecture by Professor Michael Kerin, which was titled "Breast cancer - clinical progress based on translational research- lots done : more to do".  Top oral and poster presentations were awarded prizes in recognition of outstanding contributions. The conference underscores the importance of engaging medical students early in research, building a strong pipeline of clinician-investigators in Ireland. The organising committee thanks the participating students, research supervisors from University College Cork (UCC) and the network of UCC teaching hospitals, and the School of Medicine Research and Innovation Committee for their ongoing support. We look ahead to the next conference, which will be hosted by University College Cork in November 2026.
