Aims of CPD

• CPD activities should maintain and improve the quality of care we give to patients and the public and should also improve the standard of the teams and services in which we work.

• CPD should keep doctors and other healthcare professionals up to date and competent in all the work they do.

• CPD should affirm what you we do well, address areas requiring improvement, and explore new knowledge, skills and behaviours.

• CPD should also help us deal with change and potential change which, of course, is central to the practice of Medicine as we learn about new and emerging therapies, cope with the changing role of the medical professional, and become part of new teams and services.
