Dr Elaine Walsh secures an ICGP Career Support Research Grant

The winners of the ICGP Career Support Research Grants were announced at the ICGP AGM in Galway, with UCC Department of General Practice lecturer and GP Dr Elaine Walsh securing one of the three grants awarded.  

Dr Walsh will receive €45,000 over a three year period to undertake a PhD on the topic of medication errors at the primary/secondary care interface.  Announcing the awards, Dr Claire Collins, Director of Research, said 'The College is delighted to support our GP members in their desire to undertake a research career and in doing so to also build on our collaborations with our academic colleagues.'
