Biomedical Society hosts Covid Conference

Beginning on Monday 12th October at 6pm, five UCC Societies will host a week-long conference with a roster of amazing speakers who will be sharing their stories of working during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
There have been numerous rapid and innovative advancements in many areas since COVID-19 arrived in Ireland and now we are going to give those at the forefront of these developments a chance to share their stories with us.
Monday 12th October
Prof. Mairead Kiely: Nutrition and COVID-19, with a focus on the implication of vitamin D
Dr Gerard Killeen: The transmission and containment of COVID-19
Tuesday 13th October
Dr Anne Moore: The development of a COVID-19 vaccine
Dr Aoife Fleming and Dr Kieran Dalton: The impact of COVID-19 on community pharmacy in Ireland
Wednesday 14th October
Prof. Colin Bradley: GP training for the COVID community and the GP Buddy Communicating COVID tracker
Thursday 15th October
Dr Oisin O'Connell: Respiratory Consultant & Interventional Pulmonologist in Bons Secours Hospital
Dr Liam Fanning: Virology and sequencing of the virus
Friday 16th October
Dr Brigid Lucey and Dr Martina Scallan: The development of a lysis buffer for COVID-19 Testing
Dr James O’Connor: Building the COVID lab
Events begin at 6pm and will last for 1 hour
