Celebrating with Family & Friends: Co-operative leaders graduate with NUI Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business)
Warmest congratulations to the 24 agri-food co-operative leaders and board directors who were conferred at the recent NUI graduation this November.
Celebrating this special occasion with family and friends, the UCC-ICOS Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business) was one of sixteen Adult Continuing Education (ACE) programmes to be conferred on the morning of November 10th, including two other Food Industry Training Unit (FITU) programmes: Diploma in Food Science & Technology and Diploma in Speciality Food Production.
Dr Bridget Carroll (Academic Director, Cork University Business School), Dr Amy-Jane Troy (FITU Manager), Aoife Sammon (FITU Programme Manager) and Marion Cantillon (Programme Team) offered congratulations and well wishes to all in attendance on the day.
Representing the funding partners Irish Co-operative Organisation Society (ICOS), Billy Goodburn (Head of Learning and Development, ICOS Skillnet) and James Doyle (Governance Executive) were delighted to be part of the celebrations.
Speaking about the programme, Billy Goodburn (ICOS) said: “The key aim of the Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business) is to support and develop the leadership capabilities of directors and management within Ireland’s co-operative food companies. In a volatile, highly competitive, globalised marketplace, skills enhancement, particularly in sustainability, climate action, and decarbonisation is crucial. The programme encourages co-op leaders to refine and expand their skills in strategy, governance, compliance, and communication through an interactive setting, with guidance from academic and industry experts.”
