Welcome to the Food Industry Training Unit
We are delighted to welcome you to the Food Industry Training Unit’s website and we hope you will find it both interesting and informative. The Food Industry Training Unit (FITU) was established by the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, University College Cork (UCC), 26 years ago. This was in recognition of the importance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to the food and related sectors.
The FITU services the part-time training, continuing education and professional development needs of people working within the Food, Agri-food and Seafood Sectors. To ensure that FITU meets the dynamic and evolving needs of those working within these sectors, courses are developed in partnership with industry, state agencies and the wider University. FITU is in a prime position to respond to food science and technology, food biotechnology and food management industry challenges as the critical mass of expertise in the University is uniquely positioned to satisfy this need. FITU's aim is to help people to grow in competence and confidence, thus increasing the effectiveness of individuals and organisations. We would be delighted to hear from you and discuss your CPD and training requirements at any stage.
