Project Manager

With 10 years’ experience in communications and digital marketing specialist roles, Nicola (Stathers) Uí Aodhgáin enjoys the diversity of her work as a project manager at UCC Academy. She has a background in design and humanities research, with degrees in Environmental Design, History & Theory from UC Berkeley, and International & World History from Columbia University and the London School of Economics. 

Her professional interests have led her to work in the media at The Washington Post and the Irish Examiner, with SME’s and in the higher education sector across the UK, Ireland and the United States. Nicola is passionate about how collaborative communication enables change and supports community building. 

A Prince2 certified project manager, her previous projects at UCC have included the George Boole 200 bicentenary and observation of the Decade of Centenaries, development of the Cork Science and Innovation Park and the accreditation of Cork University Business School, among others.

In 2023, Nicola earned an MBA with the UCC CUBS Executive MBA programme, where she developed her focus on change management and organisational culture. She is currently supporting RADICAL, an EU-funded research project that is developing a novel type of electronic sensor that can detect atmospheric radicals and other types of air pollutants.
