Mathias Reckmann graduated from the Free University of Berlin with a Master’s in Media and Political Communication and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Leipzig University. Mathias is a Prince 2 certified project manager with vast experience in the educational sector in Europe. He spent over four years managing projects in consumer education at the Federation of German Consumer Organisations in Berlin, successfully developing and delivering projects such as the “Consumer School Award”.

Mathias joined UCC Academy in 2017 and has since managed projects for UCC in organisational and strategy development, communications, learning and teaching, research, and covid-19 emergency response. Project sponsors included the College of Medicine and Health, the College of Business and Law, the School of Law, the Office of Marketing and Communications, the Health Service Executive, the Corporate Secretary, and the Vice-President for External Relations.

Since its inception in 2020, Mathias is UCC’s programme manager for the European University of Post-Industrial Cities (UNIC), developing collaborative structures with international partners and thus delivering on all four ‘flagships’ of the European Commission’s European Strategy for Universities.
