A collaborative paper between the Ultrasonics Research Group,  the Embedded Systems Group and the School of Biological Earth amd Environmental Sciences in UCC was presented at the 2015 Irish Signals and Systems Conference (ISSC 2015).

The paper, by Darren W. Fitzgerald, Fiona Edwards Murphy, William M.D. Wright, Pádraig M. Whelan and Emanuel M. Popovici was entitled "Design and Development of a Smart Weighing Scale for Beehive Monitoring". The paper was presented by MEngSc student Daren Fitzgerald.
