Public Lecture on the subject of the 1714-2014 Tricentenary commemorations in Catalonia by famous Catalan media presenter and journalist Miquel Calçada . 

 

As a pre-conference activity, part of the LX Anglo-Catalan Society Annual Conference, famous Catalan media presenter and journalist Miquel Calçada will give a Public Lecture in English, on the subject of the 1714-2014 Tricentenary commemorations in Catalonia.

The venue for this event will be the CACSSS Seminar Room, located in the O'Rahilly Building on the UCC main campus (ORB_G27). The lecture will start at 7:00 pm.

Miquel Calçada holds a Degree in Information Sciences from the Universidad Abat Oliva where he also studied Law and Humanities, as well as a Master in Public Administration and International Relations from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University, NY (USA).

In 2010 he was recognised by the International Centre for Ethnic Minorities and Nations Research (CIEMAT) for defending the rights of people. He has been awarded the National Prize of Broadcasting Award and the Government of Catalonia Radio Association Award.

He is one of the best known and most respected broadcasters in the country. He served as presenter, writer, producer and entrepreneur in radio and television.
