School of Chemistry hosts National Clean Air Research Event

Prof John Wenger and colleagues from the School of Chemistry at University College Cork hosted the National Clean Air Research Event on 26-27 May 2025, sponsored by the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment.
The event included four thematic sessions featuring 28 talks covering a range of topics such as human health and behaviour, field measurements, modelling and data analytics, research strategy and infrastructure. There were 10 presentations from early-stage researchers. An open group discussion served as the symposium’s concluding session, focusing on the research activities and infrastructure required to deliver on actions to promote cleaner air in Ireland.
The event was enabled by the Clean Air Research Forum, which brings together researchers, policy makers and other key stakeholders to share information and results, and to discuss knowledge gaps and future research priorities to support the delivery of the National Clean Air Strategy.
