Celebrating the Hindu Festival of Navratri

Dr. Amanullah De Sondy, Head of Department and Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Islam attended Cork Indian Community's Navratri celebrations.
Navratri is a nine-night Hindu festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil and honours the divine feminine, especially the goddess Durga in her various forms. Each day is dedicated to a different manifestation of the goddess, symbolizing strength, wisdom, and protection. The festival is marked by vibrant rituals, devotional songs, dance forms like garba and dandiya, and community gatherings. It is observed with great enthusiasm across India and by Hindu communities worldwide, blending spirituality with cultural celebration.
