Introduction to PPI Event held for Members of the Public
PPI Ignite Network@ UCC hosted a free public event to introduce members of the public to PPI on Saturday the 22nd of October.
The event, which was held in the Western Gateway Building UCC, was a huge success with over 35 people attending. The programme included a presentation delivered by SPHeRE PhD scholar’s Clair Haseldine and Jennifer Pallin. Clair and Jennifer set up a joint PPI panel in January 2022 to advise and contribute to their diabetes related PhD projects. During the event, they gave an outline of their PhD projects and the contributions their PPI members have made so far. They also led an activity to demonstrate the type of task that PPI contributors could be asked to do. Members of the public attending the event gave overwhelmingly positive feedback, with most reporting that they would like to get involved in future research as PPI contributors.
