2nd Film in Portuguese Cinema Cycle - Journey to Portugal

The Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies is delighted to present the second of a series of Portuguese films on the theme of "journeys and returns (in)to Portugal”:
JOURNEY TO PORTUGAL

Sergio Tréfaut, 2011 (75 minutes)
Languages: Portuguese, French, Russian
Synopsis: Of all the passengers on her plane, Maria is the only one to be detained and interrogated by the Immigration Police. The situation escalates when the Police officers realize that the man waiting for Maria at the airport is Senegalese. Illegal immigration, or human trafficking? Journey to Portugal is based on a true story.
All films included in the series will showcase themes, directors and productions relevant to the Portuguese context and, when necessary, will include subtitles.
This initiative is free of charge and enjoys the support of the Instituto Camões and the Portuguese Embassy in Dublin.
