Patient and Public Involvement in PHM

We warmly invite patient and public representatives to attend the 17th Annual Conference of Psychology, Health and Medicine. The role of patient and public involvement in health psychology is crucial to conducting meaningful research and improving practice. This year, the conference wants to acknowledge this by offering 5 patient and public representatives the opportunity to attend the conference free of charge.

For Patients and Public Representatives

If you are engaged, as a patient or a member of the public, in health-related research on the island of Ireland you are eligible to apply to this initiative. Your registration costs will be covered.

Attending the conference will provide an opportunity to attend talks on health psychology research and practice, as well as view posters describing  health psychology research.

You are not expected to do anything on the day other than enjoy yourself but if you would like to give a talk on your experiences of being involved in research you are more than welcome to submit a proposal for a talk. Please contact the PHM conference team at phm@ucc.ie if you would like to do this and we will talk you through the process.

For Researchers

If you are a researcher on the island of Ireland and engage with patient and public representatives you are very welcome to nominate a patient or public representative to attend. Please discuss this with you patient or public representative first. The representative’s registration costs will be covered by the conference.

There is no obligation for patient and public representatives to present at the conference but they are more than welcome to if they wish. Similarly we welcome presentations on the topic of patient and public involvement; to submit an abstract for the dedicated patient and public involvement session, please do so here. Please contact phm@ucc.ie if you would like more information.
