Professor Christian Waeber Awarded John Feely Medal

The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at University College Cork is delighted to announce that our Head of Department, Professor Christian Waeber, has been awarded the John Feely Medal by the Irish Association of Pharmacologists. The award was presented on Friday, November 14th, during the Association’s annual meeting at University College Dublin.

The John Feely Medal is the highest honor bestowed by the Irish Association of Pharmacologists. It recognizes an exceptional researcher who has made a highly significant contribution to basic or clinical pharmacology research on the island of Ireland. Recipients are celebrated for their dedication to advancing pharmacology and clinical therapeutics through teaching, research, innovation, mentorship, and/or the delivery of exemplary clinical care.

Previous Feely Medal recipients include Professors Philip Routledge (Cardiff University), Michael Rowan (Trinity College Dublin), and Thomas MacDonald (University of Dundee),placing Professor Waeber among an esteemed group of leaders in the field.

Professor Waeber’s outstanding contributions to pharmacology research and education have had a profound impact on the discipline, both nationally and internationally. His leadership and commitment to innovation continue to inspire colleagues and students alike.
