Prize Giving: Annual Conference of the Irish Association of Pharmacologists 2015
Prize Giving at the 16th Annual Conference of the Irish Association of Pharmacologists hosted by the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, UCC on 16th October 2015
This year's conference event included contributions from Early-Career Researchers who gave short oral and poster presentations.
The standard of these talks was very high, such that the prize for Best Oral Presentation was awarded jointly to
Clare Butler of the Conway Institute, University College Dublin who gave a presentation on "Phenotype based development of novel therapies for the treatment of colorectal cancer" and to
Dr Alice O'Farrell of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland who gave a presentation titled "Cardiac Metabolic Pathway REmodelling in Response to Sunitinib Malate"
Kathleen Fitzgerald of the School of Pharmacy, University College Cork was awarded the prize for Best Poster Presentation for her poster on "Anisamide-targeteted Gold Nanoparticles for Prostate Cancer Therapy".
