International expert on Alzheimer's Disease, Professor Karen Hsiao Ashe, will deliver a talk on Early Diagnosis and Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease.

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Karen Hsiao Ashe (University of Minnesota, USA), will deliver an afternoon seminar on her work on Alzheimer’s disease research.  The talk is scheduled for 3:00-4:00pm on Monday, 23rd July 2018.  The venue is Room 2.26 in the Western Gateway Building. 

All are welcome - Tea & Coffee will be served. 

Prof. Ashe is a leading international researcher, who has made significant contributions to AD research. She made one of the first transgenic mouse models of AD (Tg2576, Swedish mutation), discovered abnormal forms of amyloid-b-protein (Ab) and tau protein that disrupt brain activity in the early stages of the disease, and is developing treatment strategies to prevent memory loss due to the disease. Previous awards include the prestigious MetLife Award for Medical Research in Alzheimer Disease (2006) and the Potomkin Prize for Research in Pick’s, Alzheimer’s and Related Diseases (2006).
