Constitution of the Irish Association of Pharmacologists Signed
The Inaugural Meeting of the Irish Association of Pharmacologists (IAP) took place on 30th November 2016 at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. The meeting coincided with the Annual IAP Conference event.
Though the IAP has been in existence since the mid-nineties and runs a very successful Annual Conference each year, this is the first time it has been set up on a formal basis. The Inaugural Meeting of the IAP included the election of the Executive Committee which includes Thomas Walther (President) and David Williams (Vice-President). Dr Anne Marie Liddy was appointed Treasurer. Newly signed up members also signed the Constitution of the Association.
The aim in setting up the IAP is to support research in providing a forum for discussion on the latest developments in Clinical and Basic Pharmacology. The Executive Committee also aims to provide members with direct links to potential collaborators and supervisors through formal contact with other national and European societies such as the British Pharmacological Society, and the Federation of European Pharmacological Societies.
The newly appointed Executive Committee warmly welcomes new members and very much looks forward to working with members in developing the IAP over the coming years.
