Novel perspectives on capitalism
Donncha Kavanagh, Kieran Keohane and Carmen Kuhling recently launched their book “Organization in Play”. The book is authored by academics from UCC and UL.
Donncha Kavanagh is Senior Lecturer in Management in UCC, Kieran Keohane is Senior Lecturer in Sociology in UCC, and Carmen Kuhling is Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Women’s Studies in the UniversityofLimerick.
Their book uses different meanings of play to present novel perspectives on capitalism, management, markets, bureaucracy, and other organizational phenomena.
The book was launched by Prof Arpad Szakolczai, UCC’s Professor of Sociology, at the Fifth International Political Anthropology Workshop, which was hosted by Waterford Institute of Technology. The theme of the workshop was “Play: The creation of culture and the modern world”.
