More than 40 students received awards at the College of Science, Engineering & Food Science (SEFS) Awards Ceremony recently.

Professor  Patrick  Fitzpatrick, Head of SEFS, presented the awards to all of the students/graduates including the SEFS Graduate of the Year, Peadar Brehony (in absentia), who graduated with a first class honours degree in Zoology, and the runner-up, Kevin Moroney, who graduated with a BSc Honours in Mathematical Sciences. In making the awards, both academic distinctions and the part the student played in "full participation" in UCC life were taken into consideration.

19 Entrance Scholarships, part of the SEFS Strategic Skills programme, were awarded to students on the basis of results in the Leaving Certificate Examination 2011 in the following areas: Engineering, Computer Science and Food Science.  21 Undergraduate Scholarships were also presented to students based on their university results in the summer 2011 examinations.
