The book, ‘Teacher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa: Closer Perspectives’ (2012, Symposium Books, Oxford) was recently published by Dr Rosarii Griffin.

A graduate of UCC and Oxford, Rosarii has an abiding interest in education in the developing world, especially Africa. This book is the culmination of a number of research projects which she collaborated in, and presided over, as well as contributions from other notable experts in the field of development education.

Rosarii believes this book to be ‘a tribute to the dedication and hard work of colleagues and friends who have given their professional time and expertise to researching how to improve the quality and provision of education for children in Sub-Saharan Africa’. Rosarii hopes that the research findings therein will be taken onboard by policy makers and professionals in the field. She also acknowledges the contribution that Irish Aid and the HEA have made in supporting research in this area.
