Professor Geoffrey Roberts of the School of History features in a new book: Mosaic: a Celebration of Irish Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Commissioned by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences this commemorative book profiles outstanding IRCHSS awardees during the last decade. Described as ‘one of Irish academia’s most engaged and engaging figures’ Professor Roberts was an IRCHSS Senior Research Fellow in 2004-2005 during which time he wrote his acclaimed book Stalin’s Wars: From World War to Cold War, 1939-1953 (Yale University Press 2006).

Two other UCC academics are featured in the book: the film studies specialist Dr Laura Rascaroli of the Department of Italian and Dr Ron Pinhasi of the Department of Archaeology for his work on the Neanderthals.

Mosaic profiles 27 leading Irish academics including the Governor of the Bank of Ireland, Patrick Honohan, media star Diarmaid Ferriter, and Professor Declan Kiberd of UCD.
