Are you thinking of a career change? Do you want to change direction from your primary degree? Are you confused about your options for postgraduate study? If any of these questions strike a chord, then you can find the answers at UCC’s Postgraduate Study Fair on February 1st 2011. To showcase its unique range of taught and research postgraduate opportunities, University College Cork will host a Postgraduate Study Fair on February 1st 2011 from 11.30am to 3pm in Devere Hall, Student Centre on UCC’s main campus.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to speak to programme coordinators and postgraduate admissions staff about the programmes on offer at UCC and receive guidance on the application process.

A fair for UCC students will also run on the same day with a large number of external institutions exhibiting. Jointly organised by the Careers Service and Graduate Studies Office, the UCC Postgraduate Fair will inform prospective applicants of all postgraduate study options available.

According to Michelle Nelson, Head of the Graduate Studies Office at UCC, an increasing number of experienced graduates are making the decision to return to postgraduate study with the aim of changing direction or to gain additional skills.  “I hope the Postgraduate Fair will give potential applicants the opportunity to meet programme coordinators and to get information on programme content and career options to facilitate more informed decision-making”,  Michelle added.

There will be a series of talks running during the week covering a wide range of topics. These will include postgraduate research options, applying for research degrees and postgraduate conversion programmes.
