Information Day – Radisson, Little Island – May 4th

South and East Cork Area Development, (SECAD) with support from UCC’s Coastal & Marine Research Centre, are holding a Walking Trails Seminar and Information morning for community groups and other interested parties. SECAD has a vision to establish a high-quality network of community trails that are well constructed, managed, advertised and maintained in the South and East Cork area (from Nohoval to Youghal). The benefits of creating community trails are manifold. They allow people to explore new areas, promote a healthy lifestyle, attract tourists, and generate income for the local community.

Key speakers at the Seminar will include experienced trail-development professionals from the National Trails Office and Coillte, along with experts in promotion and branding from Fáilte Ireland. Participants will also hear from other community groups who have successfully developed trails, and get the opportunity to meet other Cork communities interested in developing their own trails. Meanwhile, SECAD will be there to advise on the financial support they are providing to communities to achieve the SECAD vision.

The FREE Seminar will take place on Wednesday the 4th May 2011, at the Radisson Hotel, Little Island from 9am-1pm. If you are interested in developing trails in your area, are already involved in trail planning, or wish to find out more, please come along.

Contact SECAD to register either by email (info@secad.ie) or by telephone (021-4613432).
