Dr Mary Noonan (French) won the Poetry Collection Prize (adjudicator: Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill) and Professor Graham Allen (English) won the Single Poem Prize (adjudicator: John McAuliffe). Dr Noonan and Professor Allen  received their awards at a ceremony marking the fortieth Listowel Writers’ Week.

The highlight of the ceremony was the award of The Kerry Group Irish Fiction Award to John Banville. Dr Noonan’s prize includes finance to assist in the publication of a small chapbook of her poetry, to be presented to next year’s Writers’ Week. The work of both poets work is included in this year’s Writers’ Week Anthology.
