Mr Hook also met undergraduate students during his visit to the School and spoke highly of the students’ efforts and contributions. The undergraduate students have adopted the Cork Hospitals Children's Foundation as their charity and although the charities focussed on are different at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, all students enthusiastically embrace both and contribute generously with time and support to both.
Haven is an Irish non-governmental, non-political, non-religious organisation working to build sustainable communities, through the provision of housing, and emergency relief and by implementing community development programmes in Haiti. The organisation was founded in late 2008 by Leslie Buckley and his wife Carmel.
