Representatives from branches of the Alliance Francaise throughout the country were present, as were the French Ambassador to Ireland, her Excellency Madame Emmanuelle d’Achon, the General Secretary of the world-wide Fondation Alliance Française, Monsieur Jean-Claude Jacq and the President of the Alliance Française Dublin, Mr Alan Dukes. The main presentation, on non-profit governance, was made by Ms Patricia Quinn, former Director of the Arts Council. In her concluding remarks, the French Ambassador praised the Irish network of the Alliance Française as being one of the most important in Europe.
