UCC is hosting a Public Lecture Series as part of its new Cohort PhD programme in Education.
In the next lecture in the series, Professor Kieran Byrne, Director of the Waterford Institute of Technology will give a talk on Breakthroughs and breakdowns: perspectives on educational policy making and planning in recent times. The lecture takes place on Friday, March 20th at 7.30pm in Room G06, Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, College Road.
25 students have started UCC’s new structured Cohort PhD in Education degree programme, the first of its type in Munster. The students undertake modules in three areas (1) educational inquiry (2) research methods and (3) contemporary issues in policy and pedagogy. The programme will involve two one-week summer schools in July of 2009 and 2011.
