Looking to the future
17.12.2009

MEP Brian Crowley, speaking at the recent Adult Continuing Education Conferring Ceremonies congratulated the students and said they now had the opportunity to help with the economic recovery.
Certificates, diplomas and higher diplomas were presented to some 1,000 students on the day.  Mr Crowley praised the graduates for the hard work and urged them to go on and make their voices heard in society.

Michael McDonnell, Director of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and former Cork hurling boss, John Allen also addressed the graduates.  Both speakers praised the students’ dedication to lifelong learning and also acknowledged the enormous contribution made by the families of the students.  John Allen spoke of his commitment to lifelong learning and how he too pursued Adult Education programmes.

UCC’s Centre for Adult Continuing Education offers a flexible approach to meeting the needs of adult learners.  This flexibility is evident in the range and availability of programmes at the University as well as those offered in many outreach centres and in community settings through Ireland.
