Glucksman Fellow awarded place on International Curatorial Summer School
19.06.2009

Glucksman Fellow, Claire Feeley, has been awarded a place on the prestigious international curatorial summer school at the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, Switzerland.

Claire will join a host of other international artists and curators on this intensive ten-day programme in August.  Glucksman Director, Fiona Kearney said: "Claire richly deserves this award and her participation in the curatorial summer school at Bern is an honour for both the Glucksman and UCC, particularly as she is the only Irish curator to have been selected for the 2009 Academy." The programme is an international platform for contemporary art, involved in investigating the existence of art and how people think about it. The academy invites both curators and artists once a year to Bern to participate, and devise a theme-related seminar in August within a circle of selected professors, curators and critics.

This year, the Sommerakademie 2009, Internal Necessity will take place between August 4th and August 13th.

Claire, the current Glucksman Fellow at the award winning Lewis Glucksman Gallery, co-curated the current exhibition Grin & Bear It: Cruel Humour in art & life with the Glucksman Curator Matt Packer.
