Catherine Burke, a PhD student in the Department of French, UCC, has recently been awarded a Fulbright scholarship to work with Professor James Porter at the University of California, Irvine.

Catherine Burke, a PhD student in the Department of French, UCC, has recently been awarded a Fulbright scholarship to work with Professor James Porter at the University of California, Irvine.
Catherine, who is writing a thesis on the reception of Homer in twentieth century France under the supervision of Dr Fiona Cox, has a BA in French and English (UCC) and a Master's in French and Comparative Literature (UCC). She is a native of Cork city and attended Regina Mundi School.
