College of Business and Law continues to attract high calibre students
21.08.2009

Professor Irene Lynch-Fannon, Head of the College of Business and Law at UCC is delighted that this college continues to attract high calibre students to its range of degree programmes.
The College of Business and Law incorporates the Faculties of Law and Commerce.  In the former, competition for places on the newly offered law degree programmes was intense.  The BCL Clinical (CK305) which offers clinical placements to undergraduate law students accepted students at 520 points while the BCL International (CK306) which provides students with an opportunity to study abroad, had a cut off range of 540 points.

In the Commerce Faculty, the very strong demand for business degrees at UCC defies national trends. UCC’s Bachelor of Commerce, BSc Accounting and BSc Finance degrees are well ahead in demand of other 3rd level institutions.  In addition, demand was high for the Bachelor of Commerce with an International language particularly in French, German, Irish and Spanish.

Further places are available on the new BComm with Chinese Studies which should appeal to students with an interest in global business activities.

“The quality of the degree programmes within the College of Business and Law at UCC ensures that it is the preferred destination of high achieving students.  It is important that students who come to UCC are immersed in an environment where their peers and lecturers are committed to the pursuit of a rigorous and excellent university education.  "This is a good beginning" stated Professor Lynch-Fannon.
