Better Options 2009

University College Cork (UCC) in association with AHEAD (Association for Higher Education & Disability) and DAWN (Disability Advisors Working Network) are hosting a one-day event on Tuesday, November 17th for students with a disability or specific learning difficulty.

‘Better Options 2009’, aimed at Guidance Counsellors, students and parents, will run from 10am to 2pm in Devere Hall, Áras na Mac Léinn, UCC.

The event, organised by UCC’s Disability Support Service, will provide information on all aspects of third level education including:

  • Presentation on the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) Information on the completion of CAO Supplementary Information Forms for the online DARE process
  • Services/supports available in Universities and Institutes of Technologies
  • Keynote address from motivational speaker, Mark Pollock
  • Students with disabilities outline their experiences of higher education.
