War and American Identity - UCC Conference

A number of outstanding US scholars will convene in UCC on Thursday, April 24th 2008 to present papers on the theme of War and American Identity.
The key objective is to address the manner in which wars the United States has participated in since the 1930s has been represented, communicated and narrated within and beyond US culture and to analyse these contributions to US identity formation.  The short conference is a part of a wider project on the topic supported by the Department of History and the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences Conference Fund and the Clinton Institute for American Studies (UCD).

The conference, co-ordinated by Dr David Ryan of UCC's History Department, takes place in the Council Room, North Wing, UCC.
