UCC Choir hits a high note!

Congratulations to the UCC Staff Choir who came second recently in the Association of Irish Musical Societies competitive Choral Festival in New Ross, Wexford where they took part in the church music section and the chamber choir section.

Congratulations to the UCC Staff Choir who came second recently in the Association of Irish Musical Societies competitive Choral Festival in New Ross, Wexford where they took part in the church music section and the chamber choir section.
This festival included sections for larger choirs, for barbershop groups and musical societies, as well as church and chamber music. The competition followed the choir's appearance in Birr Castle, Co Offaly where they gave the first Irish premier of the beautiful Pastoral Suite for flute and orchestra by Gunnar de Frumerie (soloist John Berrill) with the NUI Galway Concert Orchestra and the Birr Choral Society.
