Glucksman Gallery to host Craft Fair
29.10.2008

The first week-end of November will see the Lewis Glucksman Gallery host its first ever Craft Fair. Visitors to the gallery will have the opportunity to view and purchase the unique craftwork of some of Ireland's leading craftsmakers.
Ceramics, woodturning, furniture, jewellery and much more will all feature in Craft Fair 08.  With free entrance, this is a fantastic opportunity for the public to view and acquire distinctive gifts from craftmakers approved by the Irish Crafts Council.

Craft Fair 08 is the gallery's first craft fair and director Fiona Kearney said she is looking forward to seeing a variety of high quality crafts in the gallery space: "We're delighted to have such a variety of high quality craftmakers participating in the craft fair.  The exceptional quality of Irish craft is part of our artistic heritage and will make for a wonderful display in the gallery spaces."

The Glucksman is looking forward to welcoming new faces to the gallery as the craft fair will appeal to a wider audience. Director Fiona Kearney said:
"Admission to the gallery is always free and this will also be the case for the Craft Fair 08, the Fair will introduce visitors to both the Glucksman and the contemporary Irish crafts in an informal way. As well as being an opportunity for craftmakers to showcase their work, it will also allow visitors to see and meet the person behind the work and learn more about the process involved in producing the crafts. On the weekend, we will have staff working who will be available to talk to visitors about the Craft Fair but also about our programmes and activities at the Glucksman"

The Craft Fair runs on Saturday, November 1st from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday, November 2nd from 11am to 5pm.

All are welcome.
