Fiona Kearney, Director of the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, was recently selected for two international honours: a Salzburg Global Seminar Fellowship and as a member of the Getty MLI 2008.
Earlier this month, she was invited as a participating fellow to the Salzburg Global Seminar. The Salzburg Global Seminar is a leading global institution that challenges current and future leaders to develop creative ideas for solving global problems. As an independent, non-profit organization, the Salzburg Global Seminar convenes imaginative thinkers from different cultures and professions to develop strategies for change. Fiona Kearney's fellowship for Session 453: Achieving the Freer Circulation of Cultural Artifacts is worth €3500 and is supported by the Edward T. Cone Foundation.
In July as one of 30 selected museum leaders from across the US, England, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, China, and South Africa,
Fiona Kearney will explore the increasingly complex challenges that face today's museums as part of the Getty Leadership Institute's renowned Museum Leadership Institute (MLI), to be held at the Getty Center, LA from July 13-August 1, 2008.
