Discovery 2008 – Cork’s Annual Interactive Exhibition

Discovery 2008, Cork’s Annual Interactive Science Exhibition, takes place this year from Sunday, November 16th to Wednesday, November 19th in the City Hall (following on from Science Week).

Sunday, November 16th is a special feature FAMILY DAY, from 3-6pm.  This is an opportunity for all the family to enjoy the exhibition.

At the UCC Stand, experience the excitement of science in the world around us at the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science (SEFS).  Engage in a game of Mindball - the only way to win is to rely on the power of your brainwaves! Discover the vast wonders of the sun and planets with our Magic Planet. Delve into the colourful world of microorganisms, learn what it takes to become a forensic scientist, then for dessert taste our world-famous liquid nitrogen ice-cream!

RED FM will provide an outside broadcast and a special live broadcast will be made by satellite by students from Terence MacSwiney Community College, Cork who are currently on the ultimate field-trip – exploring the Antarctic with explorer Pat Falvey on the “Be Able / Beyond Endurance Education Project” http://www.tyact2008.com/.

The Exhibition continues until Wednesday, November 19th – mornings for schools only and General Public from 2.30-4pm.  Come along and check out UCC and all the other stands including APC, Tyndall, CIT, Fota Wildlife Park, Millstreet County Park, Lifetime Lab, Techniquest etc.
