Mary Robinson to deliver Annual Lecture hosted by Irish Yearbook of International Law
The First Annual Distinguished Lecture hosted by The Irish Yearbook of
International Law will be delivered by Mrs Mary Robinson on Friday
next, 1 December at Iveagh House, Department of Foreign Affairs, Dublin
at 7pm.
The Irish Yearbook of International Law is a new publication presenting
critical analysis and up to date information on key developments
in international law. The Yearbook is edited by Dr Siobhán Mullally,
Faculty of Law, University College, Cork and Dr Jean Allain, Queen's
University of Belfast.
On an annual basis, the Yearbook will present peer-reviewed academic
articles and book reviews covering general issues of international law.
Filling a gap in current scholarship, the Yearbook will also include
in-depth surveys and analyses of Irish practice in international law. A
team of designated correspondents will provide reports on international
law developments in Ireland, Irish practice in international and
European forums, and recent developments in North-South relations in
Ireland.
As the first publication of its kind in this field in Ireland, the
Irish Yearbook will become an essential resource for academics and
practitioners, ensuring widespread dissemination of Irish practice in
international law. In providing a forum for the documentation and
analysis of North-South relations in Ireland, the Yearbook will also
make an important contribution to post-conflict and transitional
justice studies worldwide.
The first edition of the Yearbook, covering events in 2006, will be published by Hart Publishing, Oxford, in 2007.
