A number of high profile journalists from RTE, Irish Times and Irish Examiner
are among those expected to attend the first annual University College
Cork Journalism Conference 2006 scheduled to take place at UCC on 15
November next. Hosted by the UCC Journalism & Media Society, the
conference is aimed at all third level students interested in
journalism throughout Ireland.
The UCC Journalism Society was set up in 2006 to cater for the needs of
students who wish to pursue a career in journalism. Since its inception
the UCC Journalism Society has organised events and workshops to give
students the opportunity to get some experience and insight of working
in the media in Ireland.

The Conference takes place on Wednesday, 15 November, 9.30am-4pm in the Aula Maxima UCC.
The event is ticket only and there will be no tickets available on the
door. Block bookings welcome. Open to third level students of all
academic institutions. Admission: €12. Tickets on sale outside
the Main Rest on Friday, 10 November and Monday, 13 November at 1pm.
