UCC to host International Conference “CHINA in the 21st Century: Culture, Politics and Business”
The Irish Institute of Chinese Studies at UCC will host an
international conference “CHINA in the 21st Century: Culture, Politics
and Business” on 10-12 June 2007. Chinese Studies scholars from across
the globe are expected to attend the conference which aims to promote
research on China and its relationship with Ireland, Europe and the
World. Keynote addresses will be given by experts from China, Europe
and North America.
Themes of the conference include:
- Chinese Economy and Enterprise: Review and Outlook including Outsourcing
- The Irish ‘Asian Strategy’ and its Progress
- Rural and Urban: Dual-Structure of Chinese Society
- Changing Public-Private Relationships in China
- China and International Relations
- Law and the Development of Chinese Civil Society
- Education in China: Opportunities and Challenges
- The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and its Impact
Registration Fee:
Academics: €150 per person
UCC Academics: €120 per person
Students: €80 per person.
Deadlines for Abstracts and Papers:
Deadline for Submission of Abstract: 15 January 2007.
Notification of Acceptance of Abstract: 1 March 2007
Deadline for Submission of Full Paper: 1 May 2007
