Scientific links established between UCC and China


 
The BIOMERIT Research Centre at the Biosciences Institute, (BSI), UCC recently hosted a visit by a group of Chinese Scientists from The Institute of Molecular Genetics, Guangxi University, Nanning.

The Chinese delegation, led by Professor Jia-Xun Feng accompanied by colleagues Professor Yong-Qian He and Mr Dong-Jie Tang, were visiting UCC as part of the SFI-funded China-Ireland Research Collaboration Program between the research groups of Dr Max Dow and Professor Fergal O'Gara in the BIOMERIT Research Centre at UCC and Chinese research groups led by Professor Yi-Ping Wang at Peking University, Beijing and Professor Ji-Liang Tang at Guangxi University, Nanning.

During the visit to UCC, the delegation gave two research seminars on their work on pathogenic interactions between microbes and plants, and visited a number of research laboratories both within BSI and more widely on campus.
