UCC will host a one-day symposium "Digitising Ethnography" - "An
eitneagrafaíocht agus an teicneolaíocht digiteach" on Wednesday 14 June.
Issues relating to the impact of technology change on the
execution, archiving and further use of ethnographic research
(particularly audio recordings and still and moving images) will be
addressed at the symposium. Organised by Marie-Annick Desplanques and
Cliona O'Carroll, Béaloideas/Folklore and Ethnology, UCC, the symposium
is aimed at those engaging in ethnographic fieldwork (and the
digitisation thereof) to present their work in an informal setting and
discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by changing
technologies. All presentations will be in English.

The Symposium takes place on 14 June at University College Cork,
