UCC's Centre for Adult Continuing Education will launch its Annual
Programme Guide at an Open Evening on Wednesday next, 5 April.
The 45 programmes on offer, ranging from Certificate to Degree levels,
are reflective of significant internal and external learning
partnerships with many voluntary, statutory and professional
bodies. Programmes range from Certificates in Non-Formal
Guidance, Interpersonal Communications, Irish Archaeology, Foundation
Safety, Health and Welfare at Work to Diplomas in Environmental Science
and Social Policy, Management Practice (Consumer Foods), Safety, Health
& Welfare at Work (Construction), Higher Diploma in Safety, Health
& Welfare at Work, Higher Diploma in Personnel Management, Higher
Diploma in Learning, Development & Work-Based Training, Disability
Studies and Food Retailing.
The Director of the Centre, Professor Mairtín Ó Fathaigh states
"The Open Evening is aimed at the lifelong learner who wishes to become
familiar with the programmes on offer. UCC and, in particular, the
Centre for Adult Continuing Education, has a long and proud tradition
of providing opportunities for lifelong learning for adults in many
diverse centres and settings. Over 2,000 students attended
Certificate/Diploma/Degree programmes in nearly 80 learning centres in
2005. The Centre for Adult Continuing Education at UCC is a
bridge between the resources of the University, its Departments and
Faculties, and the needs of the community. The Centre has rightly
attained national and international recognition for its dedicated work
and development of such an array of innovative lifelong learning
opportunities".
The Open Evening takes place on Wednesday, 5 April, 6.00-9.00 pm in
Devere Hall, UCC. Staff will be available to advise and answer any
questions.
