Heineken Ireland has lent its support to University College Cork's
(UCC's) Microbiology Department by sponsoring Ms Susan Rouse who is a
postgraduate student working in the area of brewing. Attached to
UCC's Micro Brewery and working under the guidance of Dr Douwe van
Sinderen of the Microbiology Department, Ms Rouse is working on ways to
stabilise beer from a microbiological perspective so as to ensure
consistent quality, flavour and taste.
On a recent visit to UCC to announce Heineken's support, Mr Declan
Farmer Corporate Affairs Manager Heineken Ireland stated that "Heineken
was delighted to be in a position to continue its long relationship
with UCC and support Ms Rouse in an area associated with Heineken's
business”.
