Lecture on Child Protection at University College Cork (UCC), 15 November
Dr Doug Stead, International Canadian Businessman, Researcher and
Lecturer on Technology Sex Crimes against Children will deliver a
lecture at University College Cork on Tuesday, 15 November at 6.30pm,
G01, Brookfield Health Sciences Complex.
Doug Stead has devoted an extraordinary amount of time and resources
for the protection of children. He also provides assistance to law
enforcement agencies in combating the illegal use of technology to
facilitate and hide sexual crimes against children. Over the years,
Doug Stead has frequently been on radio and TV as a guest speaker and
as a presenter at numerous international, national and local
conferences on the subject of child pornography and the adults involved
in these types of crimes. Doug Stead has also developed and funded
"Reveal", a free software application which enables a technologically
challenged parent to easily and quickly scan the family computer for
indicators (words and images) that may be of an unhealthy interest by
child users.
The lecture is organised by UCC's School of Medicine. Members of the
