Supporting Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship - A Network Approach - 21 September
UCC's Department of Management and Marketing has organized a
series of lectures on the University and the Knowledge-based
Economy. The first lecture takes place on Wednesday, 21 September
with a lecture titled "Supporting knowledge intensive entrepreneurship;
a network approach" by Professor Aard Groen scientific director of
NIKOS, the Dutch Institute for Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship at
the University of Twente, The Netherlands. The institute has been
responsible for launching and growing over 700 successful high tech
spin companies.
Aard Groen's research interest focuses on knowledge intensive
entrepreneurship in networks. He has published in journals and books on
entrepreneurship, marketing, environmental management,
university-industry interaction and technology dynamics.
Groen teaches on all academic levels marketing and
entrepreneurship. He was formerly associated with Fugro
environmental services NV. He received his PhD in business
administration at the University of Groningen and studied public
administration (MSc) at the University of Twente.
Groen is member of the steering group of EFMD-chapter entrepreneurship,
several Dutch policy councils. He has chaired conferences on High
Tech Small Firms (Enschede, 2004), European summer school on
entrepreneurship and delivered keynote speeches to conferences in The
Netherlands, South Africa and Russia.
Aimed at Science and Commerce academics and students plus bankers and
equity fund managers, the lecture takes place on Wednesday, 21
September at 12.30pm, Seminar Room 1.13, BioSciences, University
College Cork. Admission is free and all are welcome.
